Everyone knows that having a dark tan is nice and looks good, but how are many of these people getting these dark tans?

They are more than likely using an indoor tanning bed, which some believe are safer than sitting out in the sun. This belief in not true in any aspect. Indoor tanning beds are just as dangerous, if not more dangerous, as the sun.

Tanning in general is not good for your skin, this is because when you are tanning you are damaging your skin and your DNA. You get a tan when you are in the sun or in the tanning bed as a way for your body to protect itself from further damage to the skin.

Too much sun exposure or exposure to harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause a deadly skin cancer known as melanoma. This cancer can appear after only one use of the tanning bed. Tanning beds have a higher level of UV rays than sitting in the sun for a couple of hours. This is why tanning beds are set on a timer of 20 minutes maximum per session. Many tanning salons even offer an unlimited tanning package for a low monthly price. This will allow you to go to the salon as many times a day, week, and month as you would like.

Many tanners don’t believe this bit of information. Many believe that a tanning bed is safer than the sun because you are in the tanning bed for a shorter amount of time than you would be in the sun for the same results. What many of these tanners are not taking into consideration is the amount of UV rays they taking in at one time.

Personally I think dark, natural looking tans are nice, but I would not be in a tanning bed for any period of time because of the health risks that
are associated with them. Many teens are aware of the health risks yet they still use the tanning beds for that dark tan.

Not only can tanning beds cause cancer in many users, they are also very capable of causing third degree burns on the body. As nice as a tan looks, being burned from head to toe doesn’t look all that great, especially when those burns can lead to scars.

If you are using a tanning bed you need to be cautious about what you are doing and know all of the health risks involved. Take care of your skin and your body so you may look and feel younger. Author Resource:- http://www.celluleanworks.com
