Mural Designs
Christopher Westall has been painting murals and trompe l'oeil for over twenty five years and has transformed more than a few walls in peoples homes, restaurants and public spaces. He has also written two books on his profession, teaches trompe l'oeil painting and has worked on television shows such as 'A House in Tuscany ', ' Room Rivals ' and more recently a few appearances in ITV1's ' 60 Minute Makeover '.
Children's rooms are a fantastic blank canvas for Christopher to transform. There is limitless possibilities as a child's favourite characters and scenes can be brought to life and their room transformed into a fantasy world. Christopher has painted jungles, African watering holes, fairyland castles, cowboys & indians and outer space themes to name but a few. He has also painted onto canvas & panels so the mural is portable.
Rather than just copy a character onto a wall Christopher can draw on his trompe l'oeil skills to add an extra dimension to his murals. Trompe l'oeil is a specialised form of painting that involves use of light, shadow and perspective to fool the eye into believing an object or scene has real depth. The term trompe l'oeil translates from the French ' trick the eye'.
