www.confetti.co.uk - the UK’s leading wedding and party website. In her new Step Ahead column, Carol, who has many years’ experience of event organisation and has herself recently married, understands all too well the highs and lows of planning the most important day of your life! Read on to find out her tops tips on ensuring your perfect day goes smoothly.
In no particular order:
·
Don’t forget to relax on the day - enjoy the fact that people have
come to share this special day with you.
·
Take a deep breath and try to remember everything – the day rushes
by quickly so try not to miss a moment.
·
Find a point in the day for you and your husband to be together
alone – you can be so busy rushing around seeing everyone else – remember this
is about the two of you.
·
Have breakfast! It
sounds silly, but a light yet sustaining breakfast will make sure you set off
feeling your best.
·
Plan, plan and plan again – make lists right at the beginning – an
online wedding planner or one you can buy (confetti stocks these) will make
sure you have all the details covered.
·
Budget properly – you don’t want to begin married life in debt.
Make a list right at the beginning and try to stick to it. Decide what is
important to you – if fresh flowers are your thing, then allocate a greater
proportion of your budget to that and cut down on other things.
·
Choose someone you can rely on to be your chief attendant – make
sure they really want to do it and that they accept the responsibility of the
role – it will be their job to arrange any hen night, look after you on the
day, and look after the younger attendants.
·
Make sure you are getting married for the right reasons – marriage
will alter your relationship, make sure you want that change and embrace it in
a positive way.
·
Be willing to compromise with your partner – a willingness to work
together is what marriage is all about.
·
Once you have set a date, make an appointment to see the vicar
of the church you wish to be married in or the Superintendent Registrar for
your area if you are getting married in a registry office.
