If, like in the movies, superheroes went about their daily business wearing capes, then Alison Thorpe would be dressed from head to toe in primary colours, spangled and bejewelled like Wonder Woman. But on the surface, she looks like any other busy mother. Dashing about on her daily chores, the 46-year-old has an open, honest face and a pleasant manner.
